Our Story

We believe healing is a personal journey-one that's unique to each individual, yet shared quietly by many. Anam Cara exists to guide you through your own path of transformation. Using the power of words, we're here to help you transmute pain into purpose and create a life aligned with your deepest truths.

Our founder, Caragh has faced her own share of life's big, messy moments and wanted to create a space for those, like her, who have often felt that the experiences they carry are too big or complex for healing spaces, where 'positive thinking' all too often outweighs the genuine processing of trauma so it can be transmuted into something new.

Welcome! If you’ve found your way here, the likelihood is that you’re looking for ways to heal.
I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, to question your place in the world, and to wonder if you’ll ever find peace. My own journey has been shaped by grief, trauma, and the search for healing.

As a former journalist, writer and strategist, I spent years using words to build businesses—until, through my own healing journey, I discovered the power words held to also transform our personal experiences.

Words have the power to turn pain into purpose, uncertainty into clarity, and brokenness into wholeness. And I say this from experience—I’ve been broken multiple ways, more than once. Some of us simply carry more than our fair share of life’s messy moments. I understand what it feels like to carry that weight while the world asks us to shrink, to make ourselves smaller to make others more comfortable.

Healing doesn’t always happen overnight, and it’s certainly not linear. For me, journaling became a way to navigate the mess—to record, make sense of, and ultimately heal from what I’d been carrying. It’s not about finding perfect words, but about finding space to be honest with yourself. Whether you’re working through grief, burnout, or trauma, journaling helps you connect with your feelings, acknowledge your growth, and embrace the journey ahead.

That’s why I created Anam Cara - to create a space for people like me to be supported through the mess, reclaim their power and heal on their own terms.
